This artwork stands in stark contrast to the artwork "The Shadow of Us." (as seen in in 06/2023) While "The Shadow of Us" beautifully portrays the pain of letting go and the emotional attachment that lingers after a relationship ends, "holding onto..." presents an antithesis, emphasizing the struggle of clinging to something that may have already slipped away. In this image, I, as the artist, aim to depict the poignant and sometimes painful act of holding onto the remnants of a relationship, even when it's no longer feasible or healthy. It serves as a visual exploration of the human tendency to resist change and to grapple with the complexities of moving on. Through these two contrasting artworks, I hope to provoke deeper reflections on the intricate nature of relationships, loss, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of emotional turmoil.
